Safeguarding

Keeping young people safe

The safety and wellbeing of the young people who use COGS is at the heart of our work.

Our counsellors have a responsibility to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns. If we are worried about the safety or welfare of a young person, we will follow our safeguarding procedures and take appropriate action to help keep them safe

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

Confidentiality and safeguarding

What you talk about in counselling is treated confidentially. However, confidentiality is not absolute.

If we are concerned that you or someone else may be at risk of harm, we may need to share information to help keep people safe. We will handle safeguarding concerns carefully and only share information where it is necessary.

Worried about someone’s safety?
