Trainee Placements
COGS offers trainee counselling placements for those working towards a recognised counselling qualification and who are passionate about supporting young people aged 12–25. Placements provide the opportunity to develop skills in a supportive, youth-focused setting.
Training & Qualifications
Applicants should be enrolled on, or have completed, an appropriate counselling training programme and be working towards a recognised qualification. We will discuss specific training requirements as part of the application process.
Experience
We welcome applications from trainees with experience of working with young people or in related settings. A genuine interest in youth mental health and a commitment to ethical practice are essential.
Commitment
Trainees are expected to commit to regular counselling sessions, supervision and training, and to work in line with our policies and safeguarding procedures.
Location
Placements are based in Faringdon and the surrounding areas. Further details about days, times and settings can be discussed during the application process.
Volunteer with COGS
Volunteers play an important role in helping COGS support young people. We welcome volunteers in a range of roles, from community outreach and events to fundraising and behind-the-scenes support.

Community Support
Help us raise awareness of COGS, support local events and share information about the counselling we offer for young people aged 12–25.

Fundraising & Events
Support our fundraising activities, events and campaigns so we can continue providing free counselling to young people in Faringdon and the surrounding areas.

Administrative Support
Assist with administrative tasks that help keep COGS running smoothly, such as organising information, supporting communications and helping with day-to-day operations.
